Collection and use of your personal information

When you use our site, we may collect personal data that you explicitly send us by submitting a form you have filled out on our site.

Personal data (active data collection)

Personal information is that which directly or indirectly identifies you as a physical person. You always have a choice whether or not to provide it. However, some contact information may be required for you to sign up for a service offered on our site for us to communicate with you; for example, this is necessary if you want to receive our publications, to sign up for a newsletter, or request information. Information collected will be used in the specific context of the request and as a part of the business relationship that may result.

Anonymous data (passive data collection)

We use analytical tools and other third-party technologies such as Google Analytics to automatically collect personal usage information when you use our site/services.

Use of cookies

In some cases, when you have activated identification, location and/or profiling cookies via the consent management tool, we collect information that does not identify you individually by name, such as the type of web browser you use, the type of operating system you use, the internet domain name and (or) name of the internet service providers you are using to access this site. This type of data is collected using a standard technology known as “cookies.” Cookies are small data files that are downloaded on your computer when you visit a website. By assigning a unique identifier to every visitor, websites can recognize users anonymously. Cookies have several uses, such as allowing you to go efficiently from one page to the next, save your settings, and improve your experience as a site visitor. They can also help make sure that the advertisements you see online are more relevant to you and to your interests. You may deactivate cookies on your device at any time. You can have your browser notify you when you receive a cookie, so that you can decide whether or not to accept it. However, some site features may require cookies to work correctly.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to help us analyze how visitors use this site. Google Analytics uses cookies. The personal data generated by the Google Analytics cookie about your use of our site is sent to Google. This information is processed to compile statistical reports about our website’s activity only. We use these reports to evaluate aggregate usage data to better optimize our content and marketing, and to better meet your needs and interests. You can opt out of sending your anonymous activity data to Google Analytics by installing the browser add-on for this purpose: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en

The Google Analytics demographics and interests feature

The Fondation de l’entrepreneurship wants to make sure its website content is useful and valuable for its users. To help us achieve this, we have integrated the Google Analytics demographics and interests reporting feature. These tools give us access to anonymous statistical data about the gender, age group and interests of our site’s users to better adapt our content to their needs and interests. Because this information is collected via your Google ad settings, we receive it in a format that does not personally identify you.

Audience lists and remarketing

We use features that allow us to create remarketing audiences, and these features use cookies. This enables the ad servers for Google’s advertising platform to provide you with targeted ads that are more relevant to your interests based on the content you viewed on our site.  This feature can be deactivated in your Google account settings: https://adssettings.google.com/?hl=en

Sharing information

The Fondation de l’entrepreneurship will not share, sell, or lease any information you provide on this site to any third party without your permission, unless required by law. We may need to share specific personal data to enable a business partner to perform tasks directly related to the reason why you provided this information, and so that you can benefit from a service offered by our site. Anonymous data from Google Analytics may be shared with other Google services. Google may then use this data to contextualize and personalize ads on its own advertising network. We may also share personal information with our suppliers: web agencies and IT agencies (hosting and databases), economic development organizations (mentoring service management), public financial backers (accountability), mass email solutions (correspondence), and event registration management solution (event management).

We collect personal data about individuals located outside of Quebec to manage the mentoring services in Canadian provinces (Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba and Ontario).

You may choose to make your personal profile private, which makes your profile inaccessible to anyone except for the site and mentoring service administrators. We commit to providing you with a right of objection and withdrawal regarding your personal information.
